Marposs Corp., a manufacturer of measurement, inspection and test technologies, recently introduced the e.d.c. AST320/W, an automated system for testing the windings, coils and stators of electric motors in production environments.
The instrument can detect leaks as small as 0.05 standard cubic centimeter per minute—about 80 times smaller than what is typically possible with an air-based test.
As part of the company’s “We Win Together” initiative, a group of Stellantis engineers recently met with 64 suppliers and startups from around the world to learn about cutting-edge technology that can boost manufacturing productivity, reduce CO2 emissions, improve quality and cut costs.
Occasionally a low-cost change comes along that generates massive savings. At Toyota Motor Corp.’s assembly plant in Buffalo, WV, the manufacturing team came up with just such an extraordinary innovation.
