MARYSVILLE, OH—The 10 millionth U.S.-made Honda Accord rolled off the assembly line March 20 at Honda’s factory here. All totaled, Honda’s four U.S. assembly plants have produced 20 million vehicles to date.
GREENVILLE, OH—To meet strong demand for small appliances, Whirlpool Corp. is investing $40 million and adding 400 jobs to the KitchenAid assembly plant here.
MORAINE, OH—DMAX Ltd. will invest $60 million to redesign its diesel engines so they meet future emissions requirements. The investment retains approximately 500 jobs at the joint venture between General Motors and Isuzu.
RUSSELLS POINT, OH—Honda will begin operating two new wind turbines at its transmission assembly plant here. The turbines are expected to provide about 10 percent of the plant’s electricity and help reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
BENTON HARBOR, MI—Whirlpool Corp. is moving production of its commercial front-load washing machines from Monterrey, Mexico, to Clyde, OH. Approximately 80 to 100 new jobs will be created in Clyde during the next three years to support the relocation.
TOLEDO, OH—The manager of the Chrysler assembly plant here says the facility will build more than a half-million Jeeps next year—making it one of the highest-volume assembly plants in North America.
