GREENSBURG, IN—Honda Manufacturing of Indiana is investing $52 million and creating 100 jobs at its assembly plant here. The jobs and investment will support the production of the Honda CR-V, which the company announced in January would be moved to Indiana from Mexico.
INDIANAPOLIS—Two Indiana assembly plants that make products for the heating, ventilating and air conditioning industry are shifting their manufacturing operations to Mexico, which will cost about 2,100 workers their jobs, company officials announced Wednesday.
BEDFORD, IN—General Motors Co. will invest more than $127 million in its casting operation here and create approximately 127 jobs. GM says the expansion involves production of new aluminum engine blocks and components.
ANDERSON, IN—NTN Driveshaft began construction on a new assembly plant here to make constant velocity joints for the automotive industry. Schedule to open in spring 2017, the factory will ultimately create up to 510 new jobs.
COLUMBUS, IN—Daiei Inc., a Japan-based manufacturer of industrial machinery components, plans to invest $3.35 million to lease, renovate and equip its first North American manufacturing operation here. Daiei will produce forklift pillars and other components for Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing, which is also based in Columbus.
INDIANAPOLIS—Manufacturing employment increased in Indiana for a fourth straight year, according to data compiled by Manufacturers’ News Inc. Indiana manufacturers added 7,447 jobs from April 2014 to April 2015.
FORT WAYNE, IN—GM will spend $1.2 billion to revamp its pickup truck assembly plant here. Plans call for improving the paint shop, expanding the body shop, and upgrading the assembly area.
