WATERTOWN TOWNSHIP, MI—Automotive supplier Challenge Manufacturing Co. plans to spend $65.5 million to build a 430,000-square-foot assembly plant here, creating 420 jobs.
LANSING, MI—Michigan moved up 21 spots on a list of the most pro-business states, and was named the most improved state for 2014. Michigan moved up to 18, from 39, in an annual ranking of states produced by the American Economic Development Institute and Pollina Corporate Real Estate Inc.
WALKER, MI—SolarBOS Inc. will invest $884,000 to open a new assembly plant here, creating approximately 50 new jobs over the next three years. The company makes combiner boxes and other auxiliary equipment for solar power installations.
TROY, MI—Automotive supplier Toyoda Gosei North America Corp. will invest $7.9 million to expand its headquarters here. The expansion will create 51 jobs.
PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI—Medical device manufacturer Avasure LLC will invest $1.9 million to expand its assembly plant here, creating 110 new jobs over the next three years.
