YORK, PA-Harley-Davidson Inc. and union negotiators have reached agreement on a deal that would slash jobs at the motorcycle manufacturer’s plant here, but that could keep the factory open instead of moving its work to Kentucky. Under the agreement, Harley would reduce the size of its workforce in Pennsylvania while investing $90 million in the factory. MORE

million plant in Tuscaloosa County that will employ nearly 200 workers. MORE
DUNDEE, MI-Chrysler plans to invest nearly $200 million to build an engine assembly plant here for a growing line of fuel-efficient vehicles. Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chrysler has not made a final decision to build engines at the plant, but does say that there is a possibility that a new Fiat engine, FIRE, will be produced at the plant. RENTON, WA-Kenworth’s assembly plant here has been selected to participate in a project that would help develop an international energy management standard for manufacturing plants. The project is co-sponsored U.S. Department of Energy and Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance. MORE
