DOWNEY, CA-The City Council here unanimously approved an agreement last week to lure Tesla Motors’ electric car manufacturing plant to the former site of a NASA plant that helped develop the Apollo program and the space shuttle fleet. The city hopes that the car factory will bring $21 million in city revenues over 15 years, create about 1,200 jobs and help revitalize its reputation as Southern California’s high-tech hub. MORE
GOSHEN, IN-Keystone RV will add a new factory for its popular Montana brand, and increase production of the product by 60 percent. That means just a few months after they added 300 new jobs this fall, 100 new jobs will be coming to here. MORE
PALM SPRINGS, CA-A Japanese medical device assembler has selected Riverside County to build a 52,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution center. Ground will be broken on the multimillion-dollar project on Dec. 16. MORE
GREENSBORO, NC-Honda Aircraft has begun work on the North Carolina building where its $4 million light jet will be assembled. Construction on the 250,000-square-foot building at Piedmont Triad International Airport near Greensboro should be finished in early 2011. MORE
SAGINAW, MI-Saginaw is one of two finalists to land a $177 million solar manufacturing plant from a California-based company that could equate to 500 new within five years. The City Council plans to vote Dec. 7 on a $10 million brownfield redevelopment tax-credit plan to allow GlobalWatt to retool the shuttered Enterprise Automotive Systems plant. MORE
