BENTON HARBOR, MI—Whirlpool Corp. has received 2022 Manufacturing Leadership Awards for its Project Tracking System and Global Kaizen Power Pitch project.

SEOUL—LG Electronics says it will invest 851.9 billion won (nearly $700 million) in its plants this year to increase white goods
production worldwide.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—The United States Patent and Trademark Office recently awarded a patent to Haier U.S. Appliance Solutions Inc., GE
Appliance’s parent company, that describes a refrigerator with an internal system for boiling eggs.

CLYDE, OH—Whirlpool Corp. is temporarily halting production at its assembly plant here this week amid global supply chain struggles.

LAFAYETTE, GA—Roper Corp., a Haier company and subsidiary of GE Appliances, will invest $118 million to expanding its assembly plant here. The project is expected to create 600 jobs in Walker County.

OTTAWA, OH—Whirlpool Corp. will invest more than $65 million over the next several years to expand its assembly plant here. The project is expected to create more than 100 jobs.

The investment will accommodate production of premium refrigeration products, including built-in refrigerators.

GRIFFIN, GA—Rinnai America Corp., a manufacturer of tankless water heaters, boilers and wall furnaces, is building a new assembly plant here. The project is expected to be completed in early 2022 and could employ as much as 150 people.
