BALDWYN, MS—To accommodate an increase in production, reclining furniture manufacturer Southern Motion is expanding operations at its assembly plant here. The project represents a $600,000 corporate investment and will create 60 jobs over the next 12 months.
VERONA, MS—United Furniture Industries will invest $2.75 million to locate a new assembly operation at an old factory here. The facility is expected to create at least 200 new jobs.

JACKSON, MS—A Mississippi native who has an LED lighting factory in China wants an unusual incentive in exchange for setting up an additional assembly plant in his home state employing 200 workers to start. Lighting OEM Inc. owner and founder James Scott said he wants an edge in bidding for the state’s LED lighting business.
BROOKHAVEN, MS—Delphi Automotive is investing $15 million to upgrade its assembly plant here. The project will include new equipment and other improvements.
SHANNON, MS—General Atomics will move production of its electromagnetic components to a state-of-the-art assembly plant here. The project represents an $11 million investment and will create 80 new jobs.
