FORT WORTH, TX—Google has caught the “Made in America” bug. Motorola Mobility, the handset maker acquired by Google, says its next phone, called Moto X, will be made at an assembly plant here.
DALLAS—Texas factory activity increased in March, according the Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey. The production index, a key measure of state manufacturing conditions, rose from 6.2 to 9.9, indicating a slightly faster pace of output growth.
HOUSTON—Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc. has begun a multimillion dollar project to expand its assembly plant here by more than 40 percent.

MCGREGOR, TX—Behlen Manufacturing Co. will begin manufacturing farm and ranch equipment at a new assembly plant here. The facility will employ more than 50 people by the end of 2013.
ARLINGTON, TX—GM has hired 1,000 new workers to build large SUVs at its assembly plant here. The new jobs are part of a $500 million expansion that includes a new stamping facility set to open next year.
