ROSEMONT, IL,- Thousands of suppliers, buyers and users of assembly equipment in manufacturing plants are gathering this week for The ASSEMBLY Show at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL taking place through Thursday, October 28. The ninth annual event is co-located with The Quality Show, and attendees have access to both industry leading events, which include timely educational sessions, hundreds of exhibiting companies displaying products and services for manufacturing plants, dynamic keynote presentations and exciting networking functions.

Panelists for the Electric Vehicle Assembly: Challenges & Opportunities Workshop discussed how automakers and suppliers around the world are spending billions of dollars and scrambling to develop electric vehicles that meet stringent cost, performance and safety objectives. The ASSEMBLY Show floor opened with the Taste of Rosemont Welcome Reception, a great way for attendees to meet over 200 exhibiting companies in a relaxed environment.

- Keynote Presentation (9:00 - 10:00 am) - Sudhanshu Gaur, Chief Architect for Smart Manufacturing at Hitachi Astemo, a major automotive technology company formed this year with the merger of four Honda and Hitachi Tier One companies, will discuss the status of smart manufacturing today and explore its future. Prior to the keynote will be presentation the Plant of the Year Award to GKN Automotive, a Tier One supplier headquartered in London.
- Learning Theater Presentations (11:00 am - 4:00pm) offer a unique opportunity for exhibitors to demonstrate their company's expertise in an area related to the latest technological advances in assembly.
