Aircraft wings have been assembled the
same way for decades. But, engineers at
the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
(MIT) and NASA have developed
a flexible aerostructure that is produced
from hundreds of tiny, identical pieces using
composite lattice-based cellular materials.
