WICHITA, KS—Johnson Controls’ assembly plant here now gets all of its electricity from wind energy. The 1.3 million square foot plant manufactures residential heating and air conditioning equipment for the YORK, Luxaire, Coleman and Champion brands.

BENTON HARBOR, MI—Whirlpool Corp. plans to invest $14 million to build wind turbines at its assembly plants in Marion and Ottawa, OH.

TOLUCA, Mexico—GM’s assembly plant here will get part of its electricity from wind turbines.

FINDLAY, OH—Whirlpool Corp. is using wind energy to power its assembly plant here. Two wind turbines will supply approximately 22 percent of the plant’s electricity.

SAO PAULO, Brazil—A wind farm will power Honda’s automotive assembly plant here. Located hundreds of miles away, the farm has nine 3-megawatt turbines that are expected to generate all the electricity required for Honda’s annual production requirements.
