MARYSVILLE, OH—Honda Motor Co. has unveiled how it will mass-produce electric vehicles alongside hybrid and traditional internal combustion engine models at its flexible factory here.
SHALERSVILLE, OH—Viega, a maker of metal pipe fittings and valves, is building a $200 million manufacturing facility here, about 40 miles southeast of Cleveland. The 180,000-square-foot plant is expected to be operational in early 2025.
FLINT, MI—General Motors Co. plans to invest $918 million in four U.S. manufacturing sites, including $854 million to prepare these facilities to produce the company’s sixth generation small-block V-8 engine and an additional $64 million in Rochester, NY, and Defiance, OH, for castings and components to support EV production. These investments will enable the company to strengthen its full-size truck and SUV business and support the company’s growing EV product portfolio.
BEAVERCREEK, OH—GE Aviation has begun construction of a new assembly plant here that will make components for jet engines to power civil and military aircraft.
TOLEDO, OH—General Motors will invest $75 million in its transmission assembly plant here. The investment will increase the plant’s capacity to build 10-speed automatic transmissions that are used in GM’s full-size trucks, including the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. Work will begin immediately at the plant.
DETROIT—General Motors plans to invest $71 million in two Ohio manufacturing facilities, including $39 million at its Toledo transmission plant and $32 million at its Defiance casting plant. Work will begin immediately at the two locations. These investments will enable GM to retain 240 U.S. manufacturing jobs.
