FLAT ROCK, MI—At Ford’s Flat Rock Assembly Plant, 1,400 new hires are being trained using a simulated factory.

CANTON, MS—Nissan will build a 1 million-square-foot campus for its suppliers just north of the its assembly plant here. The facility could create 800 to 1,000 jobs.

WASHINGTON—Indiana added 4,300 manufacturing jobs in June, the most of any state. Rounding out the top five states for creating manufacturing jobs are California, Georgia, Wisconsin and Texas.

LAURENS, SC—ZF Transmissions will invest more than $175 million to build a new assembly plant here, creating 450 jobs.

CANTON, MS—Nissan will expand its assembly plant here, adding 400 jobs to its current total of about 5,200.

NEW DELHI—GM has fired several employees after violations of company policy led to the recall of 114,000 of its Chevrolet Tavera sport-utility vehicles in India.

PRINCETON, IN—Toyota will invest $30 million and add 200 jobs to increase production at its assembly plant here.

YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, MI—The factory where Rosie the Riveter showed that a woman could do a “man’s work” by building World War II-era bombers, will be demolished if money can’t be found to save it.
