DANVILLE, VA—Hybrid Vehicles, a manufacturer of hybrid buses and armored cars, is opening a new assembly plant here. The company plans to hire 25 people right away and eventually hopes to employ 150 workers.
WINDSOR, ON—Union workers at two suppliers to Chrysler’s assembly plant here ratified new contracts Sunday. But, talks have broken off at another supplier, Oakley Industries.
DETROIT—Cadillac is road testing a new automotive technology, “Super Cruise,” that is capable of fully automatic steering, braking and lane-centering in highway driving.
NILES TOWNSHIP, MI—Pratt Industries, a manufacturer of specialty truck trailers, expects its new assembly plant here to be fully operational by the end of the year. The plant will employ some 400 people.
DETROIT—Chrysler’s U.S. sales rose 20 percent in April as the company continued its comeback from financial disaster. The automaker enjoyed its best April in four years and the 25th-straight month of year-over-year sales gains.
