CHICAGO—Ford has replaced all the top managers at its Chicago Assembly Plant and had temporarily suspended a top union leader in the wake of a second sexual harassment lawsuit that was filed in November.
DETROIT—Heading into contract negotiations with the UAW, GM and Ford are considering asking to create a new tier of lower-paid union workers in their U.S. factories. This new pay rate for some lower-skilled jobs would help the car manufacturers lower labor costs as they compete with Asian and European rivals.
KANSAS CITY, MO—Ford Motor Co. will hand out bonus checks worth an average of $6,900 to the 7,000 full-time employees at its assembly plant in Claycomo, MO.

DEARBORN, MI—Ford will add 1,550 new jobs at four of its U.S. manufacturing plants to accelerate the production of F-150. Approximately 900 jobs will be added at the company’s Kansas City assembly plant, 150 jobs will be added to its axle factory in Sterling, MI, and 500 will be added at the stamping and assembly plants in Dearborn, MI.
