CHATTANOOGA, TN—For the second time in five years, a slim majority of hourly workers at Volkswagen's 8-year-old assembly plant here has rejected a bid to unionize with the UAW. Voting from June 13 to June 15 showed that 51.8 percent of workers cast ballots against the union.
FRANKFURT—Volkswagen is reportedly planning to sell an entry-level electric vehicle for less than 20,000 euros, or approximately $23,000. CHATTANOOGA, TN—A new hail net under construction at Volkswagen’s assembly plant here got an early test Friday when golf ball-sized hail pounded the facilty. The hail net is approximately 40 percent complete and protected some of the vehicles.
