Daimler Trucks North America will add a second shift and plans to ramp up production at its assembly plant here, creating more than 1,100 new jobs by the end of 2012.

Chrysler will add 1,100 workers as part of the plan to add a third shift at its Jefferson North Assembly plant here next year.
