CHARLOTTE, NC—Aptyx, a global leader in life sciences manufacturing, has acquired Medical Murray’s Charlotte, NC, facility, a hub for catheter-based interventional products and transcatheter implants. 

In October 2024, Medical Murray, announced the expansion of its Charlotte, NC, facility from 35,000 to 55,000 square feet. The expansion in October included additional Class 7 cleanroom space and enhanced the company’s production capacity for critical medical devices, such as covered stents and frames. According to the acquistion announcement, the Charlotte facility will integrate into Aptyx Interventional Systems, enhancing its ISO Class 7 manufacturing capacity and biotextile expertise, including ePTFE stent coverings. Former Medical Murray CTO Eric Leopold will join Aptyx as Senior Vice President, bringing extensive interventional market experience.

Medical Murray will continue operating its Chicago-area facilities independently, while the Charlotte team transitions to Aptyx. Additional investments are planned to further support the life sciences sector, solidifying Aptyx’s role as a trusted partner in advanced medical device manufacturing.
