GETAFE, Spain—The final assembly line for the first two prototypes of Airbus's unmanned air vehicle, SIRTAP is now operational at Airbus facilities in Getafe, near Madrid, Spain. The first prototype's assembly is expected to conclude by spring 2025, followed by a ground test campaign at Airbus. The flight test campaign is planned to commence by the end of 2025.
SIRTAP will enhance the tactical capabilities of the Spanish Armed Forces, which will operate nine systems, each comprising three unmanned aerial vehicles and a ground control station. This remotely piloted vehicle strengthens Spain's technological, industrial, and tactical sovereignty through its national design, development, and manufacturing.
