DUBLIN, VA—Volvo Trucks North America has officially commenced series production of the all-new Volvo VNL, a completely redesigned Class 8 truck featuring sleek aerodynamics and eye-catching details.
The trucks are being assembled at the New River Valley Assembly Plant in Dublin, Virginia, Volvo Group’s largest global facility, spanning 2.3 million square feet across 566 acres. This commercial launch also marks the debut of a new state-of-the-art cab plant, part of Volvo’s $400 million investment in North America, reflecting its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the future of transportation.
Over the summer, more than 1,800 customers, dealers, and sales staff participated in events at the Volvo Trucks Customer Center, gaining hands-on experience with the all-new Volvo VNL. The truck’s innovative packaging simplifies the specification process for customers and dealers, ensuring maximum value from the Volvo portfolio. Dealers’ service representatives also underwent extensive training through the Volvo Trucks Academy, ensuring full readiness to support the new VNL as it arrives at dealerships across North America.
More than 400 units will be available for customers to test-drive, offering firsthand experience of its driver comfort, cutting-edge connectivity, and safety features.
The all-new Volvo VNL is available in four trim levels—Core, Edge, Edge Black, and Ultimate—with six cab configurations to meet varying operational needs and brand identities. The first 400 trucks will include both sleeper and day cab models, offering a range of powertrain options and configurations to provide customers with the best fit for their operations.
The Volvo VNL offers advanced aerodynamics for improved fuel efficiency, collision avoidance systems, and best-in-class connectivity. Designed with driver comfort in mind, it also features ergonomic seating, advanced climate control, and noise reduction, pushing the boundaries of trucking technology.
