MESQUITE, TX—General Dynamics (GD) has opened a new assembly plant here to manufacture metal parts for advanced artillery projectiles.
The modern, scalable factory features high levels of automation and innovative manufacturing processes. The flexible line will be able to produce parts for shells ranging in caliber from 60 to 155 millimeters.
“The Universal Artillery Projectile Line was designed…to integrate new, innovative manufacturing processes to provide a resilient and enduring industrial capability for our warfighters,” said Firat Gezen, president of GD’s Ordnance and Tactical Systems Division.
