HIROSHIMA, Japan— Mazda Motor Corp. has joined the Research Association of Biomass Innovation for Next Generation Automobile Fuels.
The association was established in July 2022 by ENEOS Corp., Suzuki Motor Corp., Subaru Corp., Daihatsu Motor Co. Ltd., Toyota Motor Corp., and Toyota Tsusho Corp.
The association promotes research on the production and use biofuels for automobiles. The association is already sponsoring projects to improve production bioethanol fuel and to find ways to use CO2 generated during bioethanol fuel production.
“We are very honored to have received this invitation from the Research Association of Biomass Innovation for Next Generation Automobile Fuels,” says Hiroyuki Yamashita, senior principal engineer responsible for technological research at Mazda. “Through the Research Association, we will work together to promote research and development on production technology for bioethanol fuel and other technologies. We will make every effort to increase the potential of carbon-neutral fuels, a promising option for achieving a carbon neutral society.”
