LAFAYETTE, GA—Roper Corp., a Haier company and subsidiary of GE Appliances, will invest $118 million to expanding its assembly plant here. The project is expected to create 600 jobs in Walker County.
Scheduled for completion in 2024, the expansion will increase the company’s production capacity, provide for the addition of advanced manufacturing technology, and boost the company’s employment in Walker County to 2,600. The LaFayette plant assembles cooktops, free-standing ranges and wall ovens under the Monogram, Café, GE Profile, GE, Haier and Hotpoint brands.
“Investing in U.S. manufacturing allows us to be closer to our consumers and serve them better, which is critical to GE Appliances’ business strategy,” says Bill Good, vice president of manufacturing at GE Appliances. “Our partnership with Georgia is strong and getting stronger as we continue to build innovative, industry-first cooking products at Roper.”
Roper has been in Georgia since 1973. In 2019, GE Appliances invested $43 million in the company, creating 100 jobs at the LaFayette facility.
