BEDFORD, MA—Novanta Inc., a manufacturer of drives, motors, encoders and actuators, has acquired Schneider Electric Motion USA Inc. (SEM) and ATI Industrial Automation Inc. (ATI).

SEM is based in Marlborough, CT, and manufactures motors and motion control technology. ATI is based in Apex, NC, and manufactures robotic end-effectors with a focus on tool changing, material removal and force/torque sensing.
