Magna International to Expand South Carolina Assembly Plant

Magna International to Expand South Carolina Assembly Plant SPARTANBURG, SC—Automotive supplier Magna International is expanding its newly opened assembly plant here, which makes seats for BMW.
According to a company press release, the $8 million project will increase the size of the facility by 25,000 square feet and add new shipping bays to accommodate increased customer volumes. The project is also expected to create 130 new jobs. Hiring for the new jobs is projected to begin in the third quarter of 2018.
Magna has three other manufacturing locations and employs approximately 1,450 people in South Carolina.
