WASHINGTON-The Environmental Protection Agency has published a new guide to help businesses feeling pinched by rising energy costs, increased price volatility and uncertainty about the reliability of future energy supplies.
The guide is part of the EPA's ongoing Energy Star program, an effort that has helped some 1,500 commercial, industrial and institutional organizations improve the energy efficiency of their operations.
Titled Teaming Up to Save Energy, the guide details why and how an energy team should be created, and walks energy managers through structuring, launching and maintaining an organizational energy team. According to the EPA, these first steps are crucial, because an energy plan needs senior level support and effective management structures if it is to succeed.
