Principal Materials Scientist
Applied Materials Division, Argonne National Laboratory
Dr. Albert Lipson has spent 15 years working on batteries including Mg-ion, Ca-ion and Li-ion batteries. At Argonne National Laboratory, he has worked on creating safer battery cathodes and is currently working to improve battery recycling along with refining processes for the battery supply chain. His work specifically focuses on direct recycling of battery cathodes, recovering the electrolyte, creating graphene from spent anode graphite, and converting LiCl to LiOH electrochemically.
