Waaree Starts Solar Module Production at US Assembly Plant

BROOKSHIRE, TX—Waaree Solar Americas has begun production of photovoltaic modules at its new assembly plant here.

A subsidiary of Indian solar panel manufacturer Waaree Energies Ltd., Waaree Solar Americas has become the first Indian company to establish a photovoltaic module factory in the United States. Initially, the factory will have the capacity to produce enough solar panels each year to generate 1.6 gigawatts of electricity.

“This milestone marks the beginning of our ambitious plans for further expansion in the United States, reinforcing our dedication to building a resilient domestic supply chain [and] strengthening the India-U.S. trade and energy partnership,” says Sunil Rathi, president of Waaree Solar Americas.
