Marelli and Punch Motive to Build EV Axles

SAITAMA, Japan—Marelli and Punch Motive International, have formed a joint venture to mass-produce axles for electric vehicles. Marelli will supply electric motors and inverters, including software for the e-axles, PUNCH will contribute gearbox components and development, as well as manufacturing expertise. The operation will be based at Punch’s facility in Strasbourg, France.

With this cooperation, we further expand our unique offering as a full system provider for electric power trains, which is complemented by our thermal and battery management solutions.”
